Varietals

The varietals we cultivate in our vineyards in La Sonsierra have been grown in this are since time immemorial:

TEMPRANILLO

It is the most renowned and classic red grape used in La Rioja. It is considered a top quality for young wine as well as Crianza or Reserva. This is the variety which gives structure to Rioja wine.

GARNACHA

A rustic earthy red often blended to give freshness to carbonic maceration young wines. In our fields, the proportion of this variety is almost symbolic, because it is only 1% of our wines.

VIURA

White variety more productive than Tempranillo. It is cultivated in the higher parts of the fields where ground’s riches are minor than in the lower. Often fermented with red varietals, in the proper proportion gives fruity taste.
