Bodegas Moraza began its history six generation ago in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (Rioja Alta), at the foot of the Cantabria and Toloño Mountains in north central Spain.
Our ancestors cultivated Tempranillo, Viura and Garnacha varieties in this privileged region, unique for its calcareous clay soils and specific microclimate influenced by Atlantic, Mediterranean and Cantabric Sea with fresh air during winter and warm and wet summers.
Our family’s legacy consists of our profound knowledge of the varieties of grapes we use and our awareness of the environment in which they are grown.
Our vineyards are personally cultivated and carefully worked in order to obtain the choicest crops, which are then hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness and elaborated into our wines in the age-old tradition of La Rioja.
In the winery, modern control systems allow us to maximize the excellence of our grapes.
The pride we feel for our region spurs our ambition to preserve it.
In Bodegas Moraza, we respect the importance of the environment and make every effort to protect its biodiversity, avoiding herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers in the cultivation of our grapes.
The fact that our winery is supplied solely through grapes from our own vineyards, some of which are certified as 100% organic, is another expression of our social commitment to protecting the environment.
Our wines, each with its own personality, are the expression of our passion for what we do.
Each reflects our land, our climate and our winemaking tradition, and each is easily recognized by its freshness, expressivity and elegance.
